Run the cohort. Report upward from the record.
For accelerators, fellowships, leadership and professional-development programmes. Participants keep their own records; you see what the programme needs to act on; your funder receives a report compounded from those records that it can check for itself.
The cohort workspace
Invite participants one by one, as pasted lines or from your applicant spreadsheet, reviewed before anything is sent. A participant joins the cohort, never your staff.
A participant who has recorded nothing for 30 days is first on the list, with how long. A person decides what to do; nobody is penalised automatically.
Demo Cohort 2026
- Nothing recorded for 41 days.
- Quarter 3 report was due 30 September and has not been submitted.
- Ventures
- One row per participant, ordered by the first named condition it meets: Silent, Obligation overdue, Health falling or low, Revenue falling, Nothing flagged, Too new to read. Each row says why.
- Reports
- What the cohort must submit and by when, and for each participant: not started, started or submitted.
- Stage
- Idea or Build is your decision. Uweza prints a second opinion from the venture’s records with its rule, and records your decision beside the evidence as it stood.
- Milestones
- A milestone is a reading of the records (evidenced revenue, months with evidenced sales, people paid, a report submitted), evaluated by Uweza, never typed.
- Tranches
- A release is frozen, signed with the platform key and checkable by anyone. The disbursement is recorded at the same moment, so it is never counted as sales.
- Submissions
- Founders’ documents arrive only after the consistency check, with every finding fixed or explained.
- Budgets & spending
- Tranche budgets whose spending comes from matched ledger payments, with quotes before purchases over your threshold.
- Sessions
- Trainings and meetings with a register. Attendance is labelled as stated by the person who took it.
- Mentorships
- Proposed by the programme, accepted by the founder, who sees exactly what the mentor will see first.
- Overview
- Places filled, verified Passport entries, certifications, and cohort health with how many ventures it was computed from.
- Cohort record
- One frozen, fingerprinted record of the whole cohort that an adjudicator can hold and check.
- Funder access
- Share the cohort’s aggregate with a funder on Uweza: counts and medians, no names, nothing for fewer than 3.
Any kind of programme, on the same console
A cohort is not tied to one programme model. Anzisha, FAST and SEF fellows building ventures, and a leadership or professional-development cohort with no ventures at all, run on the same workspace.
Where participants learn on Uweza Education, their verified learning is the cohort’s evidence. Where they run ventures, their ledgers are. A figure with no data behind it reads “no data”, never zero.

Upward reporting, compounded from the record
Link the programme to its funder with a grant: the funder’s Uweza address, the grant’s name and reference, its period and how often it reports. The funder accepts it.
For each period, Uweza compounds the report from the covered cohorts’ participant reports and platform events, in six families. Every figure lists the sources it was computed from. Your own narrative sits beside them, labelled In the programme’s own words — not verified by Uweza.
On submission the report is frozen at its cutoff, fingerprinted and signed with the platform key. Your funder sees aggregates only, can re-check every figure against the record, and can accept the report or send a query, which you see.
- Participation
- Enrolled, joined, active, silent for 30 days or more, withdrawn.
- Learning
- Lessons completed, Passport entries established by kind, certifications. Read from Uweza Education.
- Delivery
- Sessions held, attendance with its provenance (stated or observed), active mentorships.
- Obligations
- Required reports expected, on time, late and missing; each submitted one listed by its file fingerprint.
- Ventures
- Only for participants with a venture: median growth since joining, median evidenced share, people paid with evidence, tranches released with the milestone met.
- Funding
- Disbursements, in USD at dated rates printed beside them.

What the programme cannot see
The cohort summary never selects a ledger row. The evidence drawer shows margin, trend, entry count and the evidence summary, not revenue amounts; amounts reach you in reports the founder submits or shares.
Closing a cohort narrows your view automatically to each venture’s chosen public profile. Founders can see every programme that can see them. Mentors never reach the ledger.
Not built yet
- Uweza does not read a founder’s SMS inbox. The founder records each entry and pastes or forwards the operator’s message; Uweza reads that message and checks the entry against it.
- Photographed receipts are fingerprinted and attached, not read.
- The interface is in English. Operator messages are read in French and English.
- Contract signing needs a code by SMS, and there is not yet an SMS provider covering Cameroon. Contracts can be drafted, sent and tracked; signing a Cameroonian number waits on that provider.
- Plans drafted from the record, field-research evidence, a programme’s own call for applications, and mapping to IRIS+ indicators are designed, not built.
